PMC Treasury is assisting one of our valued Private Equity clients, Clayton, Dubilier & Rice in their search for a Director of Treasury for their soon to be completed new investment, Carestream Dental. This is an exciting opportunity which will afford the successful candidate the ability to drive the development of Carestream Dental's standalone global treasury operations.


Job Description Summary

The Director of Treasury will be a consummate financial professional who will responsible for setting and achieving operational goals surrounding cash and risk management, managing banking relationships, debt instruments, investments and administration of the annual insurance renewal. He/She will report directly to the CFO and will serve as a strategic partner to the organization’s executive leadership. More specific responsibilities for this role include:

  • Direct company-wide cash management activities consistent with liquidity needs for business operations, capital projects and acquisitions
  • Make recommendations and set strategy regarding cash management and other treasury issues
  • Maintain and evaluate cash system controls/procedures including netting, pooling, coordinating and managing a manual netting and pooling process
  • Oversee the administration of all intercompany loans
  • Develop policies and procedures related to all treasury activities
  • Oversee all treasury matters arising in the subsidiary companies, and interface with the company controllers
  • Ensure that the company deploys effective accounts receivable processes that minimize collections issues and supports working capital targets
  • Manage the day to day investment of surplus cash and the use of the revolving credit facility.
  • Coordinate debt repayment and interest settlements for all company debt, and oversee any hedging agreements in place
  • Work with subsidiary finance staff to coordinate local treasury activity including loans, working capital needs and other ad hoc items
  • Oversee all banking arrangements and ensure company-wide compliance with treasury policies
  • Manage insurance risk management program including identifying and addressing risks, optimizing insurance costs, renewals and reviewing premium payments
  • Recommend and assist in negotiation of banking arrangements including corporate credit facilities and private financing arrangements
  • Direct the development, implementation and ongoing enhancement of a corporate cash forecasting system to accurately predict the timing of cash requirements over appropriate time horizons.
  • Manage all debt facilities held by the company, including any draw, repayment, interest and reporting requirements
  • Monitor debt covenant compliance, and prepare related calculations and certificates, in accordance with debt agreements
  • Provide financial analyses, modeling, and recommendations for corporate finance projects (capital structure, debt, investments, etc)
  • Understand foreign exchange and interest rate exposure of the business and hedging of exposures, where appropriate
  • Other treasury related duties as determined by business needs

In addition to the necessary skills and experience to perform the responsibilities outlined above, there are a number of traits that a successful candidate will possess:

  • 10 to 12 years of broad corporate treasury experience
  • Experience in risk and insurance, and knowledge of accounting, finance, and tax
  • Excellent analytical, communication and presentation skills
  • Strong computer skills including knowledge of computer financial applications, ERP packages, and Consolidation and Reporting Systems are preferred. Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Entrepreneurial with a self-starting personality; ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
  • A team player with the ability and understanding of how to operate in a dynamic environment
  • Prior management experience, but willingness to “roll up sleeves” and work as individual contributor to accomplish objectives and meet deadlines for deliverables
  • Able to mentor and develop treasury proficiency in others
  • Ability to organize and complete work related projects in a timely manner
  • Strategic thinker – creates alternate ways to proceed and translates grand strategies into pragmatic, do-able programs and actions.
  • Patience and discipline to continue making logical decisions in high pressure situations
  • The desire and the ability to continuously process significant feedback from any source and to rapidly convert this learning into action


  • Bachelors’ degree in accounting, finance or related degree required
  • Masters of Business (MBA) or Masters of Finance preferred
  • Appropriate experience in lieu of education may be considered
  • Association of Financial Professionals Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation desirable


  • Minimum of 10-12 years of broad corporate treasury experience
  • 10+ years of broad professional experience including 5+ years of leading a finance/treasury team of 2 or more employees
  • Experience working within a PE owned organization; experience working in a leveraged environment


  • Approximately 5-10% domestic and international travel
